We collaborate with a variety of clients and design for large national and international architectural developments in many sectors such as retail, hospitality, residential, corporate as well as mixed-use.

Marianne Hanako Caupers

Born in Paris, raised in Portugal and with family ties in Japan, Marianne was early on exposed to a a variety of cultures that awakened her senses. Her awareness developed into a keen interest for the visual arts.

Marianne holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Product and Graphic Design from the Technical University of Lisbon. Her academic training is complemented by the practical expertise she gained while working at Sonae Sierra, RSM Design, RTKL Associates and Square Peg Design from several locations around the globe such as California, Middle-East and Europe.

After nearly 10 years abroad, she moved back to Lisbon, Portugal. Out of a desire to make meaningful connections and create unique work, she founded Mhcaupers Design, a creative studio that she ran for several years, before partnering with four business associates in order to establish Openbook Design and expand the business.
